Back on the water

Life is good with Joe Farr Fishing Charters…finally! We had a serious break there while ‘Seamphony’ needed a complete motor replacement and repaint schmack in the middle of our busy period. I tried my best to get everyone out on the water but for those who I couldn’t, I’m really sorry. It’s important to me to be reliable for my customers and it really sucked to feel unreliable as 2 weeks slowly became 6 because of parts, warranties and other annoying stuff out of my control.  Here are a few pics of what we were doing while everyone else was fishing!

The issue was an angle problem with a pipe which meant that during the rocking and the rolling she was doing on her mooring in the crazy conditions where she is moored she was taking in a little water into the motor. Saltwater and motors just don’t get along, lets put it that way. It contaminated her oil and corroded the motor a bit, and resulted in needing a complete motor replacement; it was cheaper to replace it than pay to fix it. We’ve made a few additional adjustments to make sure the same thing will never, ever, ever(!) happen again.

Exciting delivery reaches Sorrento at last!

SO… now? We’re back on the water with a brand new motor and life is good in Southern Port Phillip Bay. Seamphony’s in peak physical fitness and is looking good, the fishing’s been good and I’m back in the swing of things, fishing all the time. Have been catching plenty of fish and am enjoying the variety of winter fishing and making batches of Aussie Salmon fish cakes at home as the salmon get bigger at this time of year. Still plenty of whiting, squid and flathead to be had, just as good as summer time, so if you’re keen for a fish give me a call and I’ll be VERY happy to FINALLY be able to take you fishing!
